HANY ABU-ASSAD / OMAR

Hany Abu Assad is a Nazareth-born Palestinian film director who began his career as an airplane engineer in the Netherlands before becoming an award-winning filmmaker.

He first feature Rana's Wedding was selected for the Critics Week at Cannes. His second feature Paradise Now was a Golden Globe winner, opened DIFF 2005 and was Palestine’s first Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Film.
