3000 Nights / Mai Masri

€0.00

3000 Nights is veteran Palestinian documentary filmmaker Mai Masri's first feature.

Thrown into prison for mistakenly being accused of aiding and abetting in a terrorist attack, newly married Leyla finds herself pregnant and facing a long prison sentence.

In spite of the dire conditions the women fight to preserve their dignity and self-respect in the face of abuse by the system.

Based on extensive interviews with former prisoners, this film is a metaphor of life under occupation, and the indomitability of the human spirit.

"It’s emotive material, handled with a blunt but largely unsensational approach." ScreenDaily
