Born in Beirut in 1964, Elie Khalife studied cinema at l'École Supérieure d'Art Visuel in Geneva (ESAV). 

He has written, directed and produced several short films: Taxi Service (1996), Merci Natex (1998), Van Express (2004), a personal documentary Love & Cigarettes (2006) and a feature film, Yanoosak (2010). Currently, he is preparing his next feature film, Trempoline.

Khalife is the manager of the production house Taxi Films.

He also teaches scriptwriting and filmmaking at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) and The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).

Khalife mentors students on their graduate projects and conducts cinema workshops.
