SAMEH ZOABI/TEL AVIV ON FIRE
Sameh was born and raised in Iksal, a city near Nazareth. He graduated from Tel Aviv university with a dual degree in Film Studies and English Literature. Received a Fulbright fellowship to study Filmmaking at Columbia University, and went on to graduate from there with an MFA.
His short Be Quiet (2005) was a Cinefondation Selection at the Cannes Film Festival. His first feature Man Without a Cellphone collected many awards on the festival circuit. He also wrote the original script for The Idol (ANA2016)
Sameh currently lives in Brooklyn and teaches directing and screenwriting at NYU.
Tel Aviv on Fire, his second feature, premiered at the Toronto International Festival and at the Venice International film festival.
